Gurjum Balsam Oil Light, also known as Light Gurjun Balsam Oil, is obtained by steam distillation from the balsam of the Dipterocarpus turbinatus tree. It is characterized by a woody, balsamic, warm, and diffusive aroma, often described with amber-like, somewhat dry, and faintly spicy undertones. It is a natural product primarily used in fragrance and flavoring.
Primarily used as a fragrance ingredient to impart woody and balsamic notes. It also finds application as a fixative in perfumery and, to a lesser extent, as a flavoring agent in certain formulations.
Its main applications are within the fragrance industry for perfumes, colognes, and personal care products where a warm, woody-balsamic character is desired. It can act as a fixative, helping to prolong the scent of other more volatile components. Less commonly, it may be used in food and beverage flavorings.
